The Director General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority Paul Asare Ansah has introduced one of his deputies, the Director of Tema Port, Edward Osei to the port community.
The Director General of Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority has two Deputies who are the Directors of the Two Ports of Ghana, Tema Port and Takoradi Port.
The port community comprises ship owners and agents, freight forwarders, importers and exporters, shipping lines, stevedore companies, haulage companies among others.
Paul Ansah asked for the maximum cooperation and support from the stakeholders so as to ensure that the new Director of Tema Port succeeds.
“I crave your indulgence to give him your maximum support and cooperation and I believe that when we are able to do that the fruits that come out of it will benefit us and the industry as a whole,” he said.
The new Director of Tema Port Edward Osei promised to run an open administration and also give a listening ear to the port stakeholders.
He said his only motivation is to make sure that the Tema Port becomes one of the foremost ports in Africa and possibly in the world.
The port community pledged their unflinching support to the Director of Port and promised to work in harmony with him so as to achieve his objectives.
In a related development, the Director of Tema Port, Edward Osei has interacted with some security agencies operating in and around the port.
The interaction was to foster a cordial relationship between the security agencies and the new Director of Tema port.
He prevailed on the security agencies to go about their duties in a manner that won’t frustrate the importer.
The new Director of Tema Port also visited the Tema Mantse to introduce himself officially to the leaders under whose traditional enclave the Tema Port is located.
