The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority hospital in Takoradi admitted and treated some victims of the gas explosion that occurred on the Takoradi - Sekondi main road.
This forms part of the GPHA hospital’s contribution towards the delivery of healthcare services in takoradi.
More than one hundred and twenty-two persons, including six fire officers, were severely injured in the massive gas explosion that hit a depot on the main Sekondi-Takoradi Road.
Dr Vitus Victor Anaab-Bisi, Head of the Medical Service at the Port of Takoradi said 18 people including 15 males and 3vfemales sustained various degrees on injuries.
The Western Regional Minister, Dr Kweku Afriyie together with some management members of the Port of Takoradi visited the victims to see how they are faring.
The Regional Minister stated that none of the victims should be left untreated and appealed to the public and other institutions to give the necessary assistance to ensure the speedy recovery of the victims.
