ALBERT BOSOMTWI-SAM FISHING HARBOUR

The Albert Bosomtwi-Sam Fishing harbour was built in 1999 as a strategic business unit of Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority to be managed as part of Takoradi Port. The harbour is located in Sekondi; the Administrative capital of the Western region of Ghana and a city well noted for its fishing activities.

It lies between latitude 4°55.84 - 4°56.7 and longitude 2°47.1w - 2047.9; thus approximately about 25km West of Takoradi Port and specifically north of the Sekondi Naval Base.

The harbour was designed to serve as a centre for the improvement and development of fisheries for the fishing communities around Sekondi-Takoradi and other coastal communities in the Western and Central regions of Ghana.
